The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is uniting tens of thousands of people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality. In May 2018, the campaign launched a 40-day “fusion” of direct nonviolent action of the poor, clergy, and advocates across 30 states with key weekly actions and programs in Washington, DC.

The Sanctuaries was invited to serve as the primary source of visual art for the entire campaign in Washington, DC. This involved organizing and hosting community artmaking events, screenprinting and hand-painting hundreds of handheld banners and patches, designing and hand-painting multiple large banners, and more.
